I own a 2014 Limited Highlander. Overall the car has been great. I have put 106,000 miles on it. This past week I experienced transmission failure and need to replace the transmission. This has come within a month of my brother-in-law experiencing the same thing at 99,000 miles with his 2014 XLE.Then shift slowly (with a 2-3 second pause between gears) between P to R to N to R to P. Quickly get under car and shine infrared temperature gun at sides of oil pan. When gun indicates 104 degrees, open pan drain plug with 6mm hex socket and wait until the small stream of fluid slows to a fast drip-drip-drip trickle.Not needed, but check the dipstick for the tranny, it will tell you for sure what fluid to use. If it is WS, it is 100k mile fluid, end of story.
