My DM gives us a free Archetype feat every 4 levels, so I was looking at builds that would make use of that, and landed on making a Monk with the Magus Archetype, specifically so I could get access to the Dimensional Assault Focus Spell.Deckard Cain. Magus is definitely very good at blasting a single target - although you may need buffs/debuffs from the party to get a good hit in on a powerful baddy. There's also a 2nd level feat that lets you use area spells. If you have a reach or ranged build, you can shoot those area spells in different directions than other casters.Could also look into the Eldritch Archer Archetype and see if your DM would allow a Crossbow to qualify. Well, repeating hand crossbow is advanced weapon, so if you go RAW, then Magus can't use it properly. And archetypes can't upgrade it higher than expert. It will be better with Dex Fighter or Gunslinger plus Magus or Eldritch Archer archetype.
